Ruger Precision Rifle: Part 1

In Blog by Don11 Comments

Hey guys, it’s your favorite bearded Norseman from the north again. This time I’m here to talk about the Ruger Precision Rifle, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The very first thing I need to do is point out that this is a rifle people are either going to love or hate. There really doesn’t seem to be any between with people. Well that’s not entirely true because I was definitely ready to love it, but hated some things about it. Lubing the Bolt Action Rifle

In Blog by Rich8 Comments

Today’s discussion is going to center on the proper lubrication of the bolt action rifle. I’ll save you some of the surprise and mystery, it’s a lot less complicated than some people think. Really there are only a few key points of the bolt action rifle that need to be lubed to ensure proper function of the weapon. Keep in mind that lubrication, whether you use grease or oil or something in between, tends to attract dirt and grit. So you want to have a firm grasp of which areas really need lubrication and which do not. Over lubricating the gun is only going to give dirt and other crap a place to adhere to which will probably gum up your action faster than if you had done nothing at all!

Stainless steel media itself is reusable and does not degrade like traditional media. There are some downsides, particularly the startup costs associated with stainless steel media. However, the benefits far outweigh any negative aspects of the system and we are going to discuss just why it’s so effective in this post!

Long Range Shooting with a Semi Auto

In Blog by Rich33 Comments

I see the question asked all the time. Why not use a semi automatic rifle for long range shooting? It would make a great competition gun, right? Yes and No. Maybe you’ve heard the other side of the argument? You know, the one that says semi automatic rifles can never be as accurate as bolt action rifles. Like all myths, there are elements of those surrounding the use of semi automatic rifles for long range shooting that are factually correct. There are also elements of the same notions that are just ridiculous and not true. We’re going to examine both sides and let you, the reader, make the call for yourself.
